Interior Painting Ceilings

I would start with painting the ceiling. The paint that is normaly use is called Emulsion paint. There are different finishes available to be used on interior ceilings these are as follows.

  • Matt               This finish gives a matt ( non shiny finish )
  • Silk                This finish gives a silk  ( shiny finish )
  • Soft Sheen    This finish gives a semi silk ( slightly shiny finish )

Interior Painting Walls

I would paint the walls next. The paint normally used is emulsion, however you can use eggshell in some areas where more durabillity is needed such has Kitchens and Clinical areas ( Hospitals ). The finishes also are much the same as used for the ceilings.so i will not repeat the types of finishes, they are the same as above with the exception of the eggshell.

Painting the woodwork

When it comes to painting the woodwork preperation is the key sanding the woodwork using sandpaper. Brush the dust residue of using a dust brush.

The paint used for the woodwork used to be oil based now we tend to use water based paint for the quick drying times ( normally about 3hrs )

compared to 16hrs as with oil based paints.
